If you have any strategies for teaching that you think would be beneficial for a language teacher please post them here. Also any methods of managing a class and organizing a class are welcome. I am always looking for ways to improve my teaching and managing of the class.
One strategy that my Spanish teacher used in high school involved conversational practice with a small group.
ReplyDeleteWhile the class worked on independent assignments, the teacher took 2 or 3 students to another area of the classroom where she had set up a small table behind a movable divider. She then practiced conversation skills with this small group for 15 minutes or so.
Students rotated into this activity on a schedule throughout the semester. I remember it being effective, and a chance to receive more individualized instruction.
